We’re excited to announce our Volunteer Meet & Greet next weekend! Many people have expressed interest in helping out across our local endeavors to resist the actions of the current federal administration.

If you haven’t signed up as a volunteer yet, this is an excellent time to take action! You can sign up on our website. We’re just getting started in our peaceful campaign to keep Chico on the right side of history.

Sign up on our website to join our volunteers, and to let us know that you’ll show up to Chico’s 5 Mile picnic area on Saturday, May 10th, for the Volunteer Meet & Greet. You can RSVP here

Bakers and Volunteers Needed for the Empty Chair Town Hall

What happens when your representative won’t show up to answer questions? We gather to ask them anyway!

The Empty Chair Town Hall is set for May 28th at the Masonic Lodge on W. East Ave. in Chico.

Our Town Hall Team is organizing a bake sale to help fund the Empty Chair Town Hall and other upcoming events. If you would like to contribute in any way to the event, whether it be with donated baked goodies, or to volunteer your time with set up, monitoring the crowd or greeting at the door, let us know by signing up or contacting us at indivisible.chico25@gmail.com

The Veterans Action Group is Recruiting

Indivisible Chico is happy to align with the efforts of the Veterans Action Group. Group organizer, and retired military member, Daneva Marshall has put out the call for interested veterans to get involved in protecting the Department of Veterans Affairs and Veterans Earned Benefits.

On March 3, 1865, President Lincoln began the establishment of what we know today as the Department of Veteran Affairs. Lincoln's words "To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan"  are still the mission of the agency. Our Veterans have kept their promise to the nation and our nation must keep its promise to our Veterans.

Indivisible Chico stands with our Veterans to support and promote their efforts and goals. If you are a veteran who is interested in joining the Veterans Action Group, please contact Daneva Marshall at ncalveteran@gmail.com.

Reports from Around Town

An estimated 250 people came to show some love for our Chico Social Security Administration staff. Over 70 people showed up at the simultaneous event in Oroville.

The groups wrote thank-you cards and filled a gift basket at the May 1st International Worker’s Day “Hands Off Social Security” demonstration, co-sponsored with our coalition.

The workers received the events with much appreciation. One Chico Social Security staffer stopped by the DACC popup at the Thursday Market, saying that they all loved the basket and its contents. "People were passing the thank you notes around. It was a big boost to morale." She was astounded by our thoughtfulness and thanked us deeply.

This great event was heavily covered nationally and locally in the press.

  • If you have a subscription, read the Chico ER coverage.

Keep it up, Butte County!

Indivisible Chico Website Update

Our Outreach Team has heard feedback that the Indivisiblechico.org website was being flagged by Norton Anti-Virus as a potential spam or malware site. We wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that this is not the case!

Our site is hosted by Wix, a reputable company that allows us creative control of the site and various safeguards for visitors. Some anti-viral software will flag a site when it's new or doesn't have an established reputation. We have reached out to Norton to get this sorted out. Don’t be deterred if the warning continues to show up – we’ll update on our progress next week.

We have also received questions from users after submitting forms. The "Thank you for submitting" response fades quickly, causing some to wonder if the form was submitted properly.

It may look like it’s not sending your information, but we are receiving your form and answers! The site will now send an email confirmation to the email address included on the form, letting you know that we successfully have your information and you are on our mailing list.

We monitor our site consistently and it is being updated almost daily. It is meant to be a resource for our community and does not currently - and will never! - contain harmful applications or elements on our watch.

We appreciate your visits, and your patience as we sort out these issues. We are working on them!

And, before we go for the week, we wanted to say, again, how much we appreciate your interest and membership and support in all of our activities.

THANK YOU ALL!

None of what we do would be possible without our volunteer team, or without those of you who have donated, or without the wonderful people of Butte County who show up for the events. We are committed to doing as much good with our community as we can, for as long as we are able.

And all of you are the reason we have been able to do so much, this far.

We hope to see many of you at the Volunteer Meet & Greet next Saturday! However you are able to contribute, as an event attendee, or a volunteer, or with a donation, we appreciate you!
