Are you looking for a meaningful way to contribute to our community and strengthen democracy? We believe that real change happens when passionate people like you step up and get involved. We're a grassroots movement dedicated to empowering residents to advocate for local needs and working to ensure fair representation for District 1.
No matter your skills, experience, or how much time you have, there's a place for you on our team. Every contribution, big or small, directly impacts our ability to make Chico a more just and equitable place.
Diverse Ways to Get Involved: Find Your Fit!
Our work is organized into several key areas, each offering unique opportunities to contribute. Here’s a look at how you can lend your talents:
1. Action Group: Be on the Front Lines of Change
If you're ready for direct engagement and advocacy, the Action Group is for you. Volunteers here are at the heart of our public efforts. Much of this work is very creative and fast-paced. Your planning and conversational skills are valuable here, as are your community connections!
What you'll do: Help organize and participate in peaceful marches and rallies, lead voter registration drives, engage in Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts through phone banking, text banking, and canvassing. You might also help plan rapid response actions on urgent issues and strategic noncompliance activities.
Your impact: You directly amplify our collective voice, register new voters, and ensure our community's concerns are heard by elected officials. You're helping to build the visible power of our movement.
2. Outreach Group: Connect and Grow Our Community
The Outreach Group is all about building relationships, expanding our reach, and welcoming new members.
What you'll do: Connect with other local organizations for community partnerships, help with volunteer recruitment and onboarding, and talk with the community at our info booths at local events (like the Thursday Night or Saturday Markets). You might also help identify new opportunities for collaboration within Chico.
Your impact: You help grow our movement, ensuring more diverse voices are included and that Indivisible Chico remains a welcoming and vibrant community hub for civic engagement.
3. Operations Group: Keep Indivisible Chico Running Smoothly
For those who love organization and behind-the-scenes work, the Operations Group is essential to our success.
What you'll do: Assist with volunteer coordination, manage logistics for events (like securing venues, setting up equipment, and managing supplies), and provide administrative support such as data entry or maintaining records. You might also help with technology needs to keep us connected and efficient.
Your impact: You provide the critical infrastructure that allows all our other groups to function effectively, ensuring our events are well-organized and our internal processes are smooth.
4. Communications & Technology: Share Our Story and Connect Digitally
If you have a knack for words, visuals, or digital tools, this team is crucial for spreading our message.
What you'll do: Help create social media content, draft and edit newsletters and action alerts, design graphics and flyers, or assist with website maintenance, architecture and usability reviews. You might also help manage our online communication platforms.
Your impact: You ensure our message is clear, consistent, and reaches a wide audience, helping to inform and mobilize our community for action. Enhancing the engagement in our digital footprint, you will broaden Indivisible Chico’s local and national impact.
5. Leadership & Steering Committee: Guide Our Strategic Direction
For those with leadership experience or a desire to contribute to the big picture, these roles guide Indivisible Chico’s overall strategy.
What you'll do: Participate in strategic planning, make key decisions about the chapter's direction and resources, and ensure alignment with our core values. You’ll represent Indivisible Chico to the community and organizations, to grow our base of support and connection. You might also serve as a liaison to the national Indivisible organization.
Your impact: You help shape the future of Indivisible Chico, ensuring we remain effective, responsive, and true to our mission as we grow.

Your Voice, Your Impact
Every volunteer role, no matter how small it seems, directly contributes to our collective power. When you volunteer with Indivisible Chico, you're not just completing tasks; you're actively:
Empowering Voters: Helping people register, understand their ballot, and get to the polls.
Strengthening Civic Knowledge: Educating our community on important issues and how government works.
Advocating for Change: Lending your voice to demand accountability from elected officials.
Building Community: Connecting with like-minded individuals who share your passion for democracy.
We provide training, support, and a welcoming environment for all our volunteers. Your passion and commitment are exactly what we need to help defend democracy and build a more just and equitable nation.
