NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY CHICO!! It's This Weekend!

Indivisible Chico Joins Nationwide Voter Mobilization with No Kings: Vote Early Day
Nonpartisan Event Invites Neighbors to Register, Get Informed, and Make a Plan to Vote
CHICO, CA — Indivisible Chico is joining thousands of communities nationwide for No Kings: Vote Early Chico, alongside the Defenders of Democracy Coalition and other local organizations. The community is invited to a downtown Free Speech March, coordinated by the Defenders of Democracy Coalition, at 11 a.m. and a Pop-Up Voter Information Fair with a variety of local groups along the sidewalks around Children’s Park from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The event is nonpartisan. Organizers aren’t asking anyone how they plan to vote, only that they get out there and vote! Volunteers, families, and neighbors are invited to line the sidewalk with colorful, homemade signs celebrating why voting matters to them. At the fair, information tables from local organizations, including Indivisible Chico, student-led coalitions, members of the Defenders of Democracy Coalition, and other activist groups will help residents register, look up what’s on their ballot, and connect with community resources like a free market. Free activities include decorating crowns, making bead bracelets, and resistance braids with ribbon trenzas.
No Kings: Vote Early is a national day of action turning people power into voter power, encouraging every eligible voter to make a plan, know their options, and get ready to cast their ballot if they haven’t already. Organizers say the Chico event is designed to be welcoming and low-key: no speeches about candidates, no political parties tabling, and no partisan messaging. Expect just neighbors helping neighbors get ready to vote.
At the fair, attendees can:
Register to vote or update their registration on the spot
Get nonpartisan information on key dates, deadlines, and how to look up an official sample ballot
Add their voice to a colorful, family-friendly display of support for voting and democracy
“This isn’t about telling anyone who to vote for. It’s about making sure nobody in Chico misses their chance to vote or learn what they’re voting for,” said Cody Borders of Indivisible Chico. “Come vote, or at least make a plan to. Bring your kids, grab a sign, and remind your neighbors that showing up is how our democracy stays ours.”
