ACTION ALERT!

Neighbors,

Our country is at a crossroads. This week, our nation watched in horror as Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother, wife, and poet, was killed by an ICE agent. She was shot in the face while in her car—a devastating and predictable result of the lawless escalation and abuse of power we are seeing from federal agencies.

Tomorrow, Saturday, January 10th, Chico is joining the National "ICE OUT for GOOD" Weekend of Action. We are calling on our community to show up, speak out, and demand that this violence ends now.

Event Details

  • What: ICE OUT for GOOD - Community Protest

  • When: Tomorrow, Saturday, Jan 10th @ 12:00 PM

  • Where: Downtown Chico by Children’s Park

  • What to Bring: Signs, your voice, and a commitment to steadfast nonviolence

Why We Are Gathering

Our goals for this Weekend of Action are clear:

  • Honor and humanize the lives taken by ICE.

  • Demand accountability and an immediate investigation into the killing of Renee Nicole Good.

  • Expose the broader pattern of violence—including the lives lost in ICE detention in 2025 alone.

  • Call for ICE to leave our communities and stop the terrorization of our neighbors.

  • Build public pressure on elected officials to act now.

We are outraged. ICE has been escalating its cruel deployments, and our neighbors are living in fear for their livelihoods and their lives. We will not sit by while our communities are terrorized. We will meet their violence with steadfast nonviolence and lawful protest.

Say Their Names

We encourage you to center the individuals already impacted by this system. Please consider including these names on your signs and in our chants tomorrow to highlight the human toll of the murders and injuries caused by these operations:

  • Renee Nicole Good

  • Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez

  • Carlos Jimenez

  • Marie Ange Blaise

  • Johnny Noviello

  • Chaofeng Ge

  • Maksym Chernyak

We cannot allow this to become the "new normal." We must strengthen our local connections and show that Chico stands in solidarity with all of its residents.

See you downtown tomorrow at 12:00 PM.

In solidarity,

Indivisible Chico
